The Dsunukwa legend was often used to frighten children into staying in the villages, and not wandering off into the forest. Dsunukwa can be powerful and beautiful, but she needs to be approached with caution. It can also represent a woman who is jealous and spiteful, and who gets enjoyment out of behaving this way.
