The moon is the protector and guardian. I developed this design to remind us that all children in the world have a right to feel safe and feel joy. The faces around the moon are the children. There is another child with tears not visible from the front of the mask, this is the child that suffers silently. I created this mask for a woman whose children were experiencing nightmares. The moon has healing power if we are open to receive it. Circular mask carved from red cedar. Background of natural wood grain with details painted in red, blue, and black.
